Clearing Out My Makeup Drawers | What Stays & What Goes | Pt. 1

It's that time of the year again; time to purge my makeup stash!

I collect so many items throughout the year and it gets a bit overwhelming. As we are moving in a few weeks (more on that to follow!) I felt it was the perfect time to walk you through how I organize my beauty products, what I will keep and what I will throw away (if it's old and unusable) or giveaway.

This will have to be a series as I have eight....yes, eight...drawers full of product. Don't judge me - it's for the blog!

First up, I will walk you through my foundation, primer, powders and anything else I happen to find in this drawer.

Quickly, let me tell you how much I love my drawers. I actually call this my makeup tower. I remember I saved up my money from working as a restaurant host to afford this drawer. My mom and I drove to IKEA and she asked me if I was sure I wanted to spend my money on this. I knew I would get so much use out of it and use it as long as it would hold up so I said, heck yeah! More than five years later and I am still so happy I made that purchase.

Anyway, on to the makeup! Let's talk about the items I am keeping*:

Becca Hydra-Mist & Set Powder - This product is just so interesting to me I could not let go of it!

Thrive Causemetics CC Cream - I have not found a way to wear this that works for me...yet. So, I held onto this to keep testing it out.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream - This is a holy grail product for me; I will never not have it in my collection.

One Heck of a Blot Primer - An oldie but a goodie! I actually forgot I had this so it needed to stay and be used.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder - I am so close to being out of this so I wanted to make sure I used it all up before tossing.

First Aid Beauty Coconut Smoothie Priming Moisturizer - I am wearing this as we speak! It's another staple product for me; I love it!

Let's move on to the items I will be either tossing or giving away* to friends and family:

Benefit Cosmetics The PoreFessional Pore Primer - I have used this one hundred times and I think it's fine. I am not in love with it though so I wanted this unopened deluxe sample to go to another loving home.

Milk Makeup HydroGrip Primer - This primer did not agree with my skin so it needed to go! I hope that the next person loves it and uses it more than I was able to.

Covergirl Trueblend Matte Made Foundation - I remember buying this for a blog post that never ended up being published...oops! As it's brand new, I decided to include it in the giveaway so someone else could get use out of it.

Benefit Cosmetics Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation - I was talked into purchasing this when I was at Ulta and I have literally never used it. So, into my gift bag it went!

Mostly everything was either too used or too old to giveaway so this one's a pretty short list! Regardless, I had so much fun going through all of my products. I love doing this at least once a year for a lot of reasons but my top two being: 1) I get to make room for new products 2) I get to share the products I am not using and help someone else grow their collection.
